Tomorrow is the first day of spring. As the weather warms up, millions of Americans will go on a much-needed vacation to another country.
Before you hop on the plane, don’t forget these five things:
1. Alert your card companies. If you plan on using your credit card abroad, alert the company first. Otherwise, the fraud detection team will be caught off guard by an expense in another country. The same goes for your debit card.
2. Alert your cell phone company. If you’ll use your cell phone on the trip, schedule a phone call with your provider. Many cell phone companies—including AT&T and Verizon—offer affordable day passes for international talk and text.
